Pool and Spa Safety Tips
October 26, 2022
The summer is here and pools/spas are now being used ro recreation as well as relaxation. However, these at home appliances require important safety precautions to ensure not only your safety, but your guests as well.
Have Your Pool Inspected
Getting your pool inspected by an electrician can help prevent any potential electrical hazards. I would say this is the most important tip as the electrician can point out and fix any issue he sees while at your property.
Electrical Devices Should be Kept Ten Feet From Water Sources
Electrical devices should be kept ten feet away from water sources. This is to prevent any contact between electricity and water, which can cause a lot of harm or even electrocution. When possible, use battery powered devices when outside and never use electrical devices while wet.
Do Not Swim During a Thunderstorm
Lightning regularly strikes bodies of water and water conducts electricity very easily. Any lighting strike can badly injure you or worse. Anytime you hear or see lightning, immediately get out of the pool and get to a safe place.
